When the world’s largest manufacturer of welding and cutting equipment wants to become more customer-focused, the voices of the shop floor may be more important than anything else. LOTS performed user studies and customer interviews to provide ESAB with new insights into realities that would strengthen tomorrow’s product range.
ESAB is an exciting company. More than 100 years of research and development has made the company a world leader in welding and cutting. To be the largest also means environmental, economic, safety and health responsibilities – and it takes a company like ESAB. In order to exceed their customer’s expectations and take off from a strong foundation to become even stronger in their market, they wanted to learn about themselves through the customer’s perspective.
ESAB gave LOTS the important task of visiting key markets, studying welders in their work and talking to both buyers and welders. This was to give ESAB new insights on their business, and which focus areas you need to add extra power to in order to further develop customer-driven solutions for future markets.
